Nantucket Needs 200 Blood Donors for June 2-3 Drive

Nantucket Saves has a simple ask for their island community: roll up your sleeves and save a life.

The volunteer-run organization is 200 donors short of their 400-pint goal for an upcoming blood drive on June 2nd and 3rd. Team leader Tom McCann and his dedicated crew have spent half a year planning what they hope will be a massive success for the American Red Cross.

The logistics are already in place. Four blood mobiles will arrive on the island, supported by 30 Red Cross team members and a local volunteer team ready to welcome donors.

Now comes the hardest part: getting people to show up. McCann is making a personal appeal to every Nantucket resident who can donate.
