Nevada Senior Wins Full Scholarship to Bates College

When Aryana Cunningham opened her QuestBridge acceptance letter, the Nevada Union High School senior couldn't believe what she was reading. She spent the next two hours crying tears of joy after learning she'd won a full four-year scholarship to Bates College worth over $300,000.

The QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship doesn't just cover tuition. It includes housing, food, books, supplies, and even travel expenses with zero loans and no parental contribution required.

Aryana earned this incredible opportunity through years of dedication. She maintained a 3.9 GPA while serving as Treasurer of her school's Art Club and contributing to a massive hallway mural through the Potter's Guild.

But her commitments extended far beyond the classroom. She volunteers regularly at local farms and animal rescue organizations while working multiple jobs at Sierra View Medical Eye Center, the local library, and Burgers and Cream, often full-time during school breaks.

Her resilience comes from a deep place. Aryana credits lessons from her late mother and the unwavering support of her older sister for giving her the strength to push through challenges.

This year, QuestBridge matched 2,550 finalists with their partner colleges from a nationwide pool of applicants. The program has now connected over 19,000 students with full scholarships at top colleges, creating a community of 35,000 scholars and alumni worldwide.

The Ripple Effect

Aryana plans to pursue either a PhD in Psychology or major in Political Science. Her goal is to bring the same commitment to service she's shown in Nevada Union back to her community and beyond after graduation.

This fall, Aryana will join students from all 50 states, Washington D.C., and four U.S. territories as part of the QuestBridge Class of 2030.
