New Charger Powers 12 EVs at Once With 720 kW System

Getting a dozen electric buses, trucks, or cars charged overnight just became a whole lot easier.

Schneider Electric has unveiled the StarCharge Fast 720, a powerful new charging solution designed specifically for commercial sites and fleet operators who need to charge multiple vehicles efficiently. The system delivers up to 720 kilowatts of total power across twelve charging points simultaneously.

The innovative design uses a central power cabinet connected to up to six compact charging satellites, each equipped with two charging ports. This split-unit approach means operators can spread charging stations across an 80-meter radius from the main power source, making it perfect for parking lots, bus depots, and delivery fleet facilities.

For fleet managers worried about charging times, the system offers serious flexibility. When all twelve ports are in use, each vehicle receives 60 kilowatts of power, enough to fully charge an electric bus overnight for the next day's routes. Need more power per vehicle? Connect two power cabinets to those same twelve ports and double the charging speed to 120 kilowatts per point.

The system is remarkably efficient, operating at 97% efficiency while managing power dynamically across all connected vehicles. It handles voltages from 150 to 1,000 volts and supports charging currents up to 380 amperes, with temporary boosts reaching 600 amperes when needed.
