New Medical College Opens in Palnadu District by April

Thousands of residents in Palnadu district will soon have access to quality healthcare right in their community, with a new government medical teaching hospital opening its doors by mid-April.

The Government Medical Teaching Hospital in Piduguralla represents a major investment in both healthcare access and medical education for the region. State Health Secretary Saurabh Gaur confirmed this week that outpatient services will begin April 15, with construction crews working around the clock to meet the deadline.

The hospital's impact extends far beyond treating patients. Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, the facility will train 100 new doctors annually, pending approval from the National Medical Commission. These future physicians will learn in a state-of-the-art teaching environment while serving the local community.

Officials are ensuring every detail is handled properly. Water supply, electricity, transportation access, and security systems are all being installed now. A trial run is scheduled for early April to test oxygen delivery, sanitation systems, and emergency protocols before the first patients arrive.

District Collector Kritika Shukla has coordinated with transport authorities to establish bus stops near the hospital, making it accessible for patients from surrounding villages. The government is actively recruiting doctors and paramedical staff to ensure the hospital opens fully equipped.
