New Projector Tech Delivers Crystal-Clear 200-Inch Screens

Home movie nights just got a massive upgrade that won't break the bank or take up your living room.

AWOL Vision's new Aetherion projector solves a problem that's plagued big-screen entertainment for years: the bigger you go, the blurrier it gets. Their solution uses what they call PixelLock technology, which automatically adjusts for heat expansion, lens imperfections, and angle shifts that normally turn crisp 4K images into fuzzy disappointments.

The magic happens through a combination of lasers, optics, and smart software working together. The projector sits just inches from your wall yet delivers images up to 200 inches diagonal, roughly four times the size of a 65-inch TV.

AWOL unveiled two models at CES 2026 and launched them on Kickstarter this week. The Max version pumps out 3,300 lumens of brightness, enough for daytime viewing with curtains drawn. The Pro model offers 2,600 lumens at a lower price point.

Both versions cover 110% of the Rec.2020 color spectrum, delivering vibrant colors that rival premium televisions. They support Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, and other high-end formats that streaming services now offer.

The Bright Side

What makes this genuinely exciting is the price point. Early Kickstarter backers can snag the Max for $2,199, less than half its planned $4,499 retail price. The Pro starts at $1,999, down from $3,499.

That puts theater-sized entertainment within reach for families who could never justify spending $10,000 on traditional high-end projectors. You're getting a 200-inch screen for the price of a nice 75-inch TV.

Gamers get special treatment too, with one-millisecond input lag and variable refresh rates. The projector runs Google TV, includes built-in speakers, and connects via Wi-Fi 7 for smooth 4K streaming.

AWOL Vision has a solid track record of delivering crowdfunded products on time, which reduces the usual Kickstarter risk. If everything stays on schedule, the first units ship in April after the campaign closes.

The company didn't just make projectors brighter or add more features. They solved the fundamental physics problem that kept ultra-short-throw projectors from delivering truly sharp images at massive sizes, opening the door for affordable home theaters that actually look good.
