NH Teen Madison Beauregard Wins 4th Wrestling Title

When Madison Beauregard pinned her opponent 9-0 in February, she made history as the first girl to win four straight New Hampshire state wrestling titles. Her reaction? A simple "Oh, I won."

The 17-year-old Concord High School senior may have been calm, but the crowd went wild. Her teammates begged her to celebrate with a cartwheel or flip, but that's not her style.

Madison is the only girl on Concord High's 50-person wrestling team. Training alongside guys has pushed her harder than she ever thought possible.

"Whatever the guys are doing, I have to be able to do the same," she explained. "I had to prove that I was just as good as them."

That drive spills into every part of her life. Madison pushes herself harder in school now, aiming for top grades instead of just scraping by.

Her teammates feel like family, like big brothers and little brothers all rolled into one. Her coaches know exactly when to push and when she's truly at her limit.

But it hasn't always been easy. Back in sixth grade, Madison almost quit wrestling entirely.

"I was like, I don't want to do this anymore. I could just stop," she remembered. "But I just kept going. Just keep pushing through the pain."

When she's exhausted during conditioning, she tells herself one thing: "Just beat him. Just go faster than him. He has to give up first."

That mindset earned her four state titles and interest from several colleges. She plans to wrestle at the college level, though she hasn't committed anywhere yet.

Her advice for girls considering wrestling is simple and direct: "Do it. It's going to change you. It's going to make you so much more mentally and physically tough."
