Actress Niecy Nash received the surprise of a lifetime this weekend when her wife, musician Jessica Betts, got down on one knee to present her with a six-carat diamond ring. The emotional moment, shared on Instagram, celebrated six years of marriage between the couple who tied the knot on August 29, 2020.

In the video that's gone viral with over 150,000 likes, Nash walks into a room decorated with rose petals and candles. Betts kneels and opens a gift box, revealing the stunning ring as Nash breaks into tears of joy.

"You showed out! I love you so much! You are the best thing that has ever happened to meeeeeeee," Nash wrote in her caption. Betts replied simply: "I LOVE YOU & IM IN LOVE WITH YOU."

Their love story began as an unexpected friendship in 2015 when the two connected on social media. During a recent podcast appearance, Nash shared the exact moment everything changed between them.

The pair had made plans to grab food together in New York. Nash was already digging into a plate of crabs when Betts arrived late to join her.

"When she sat down to order her crabs, I saw her with fresh eyes," Nash recalled. "My stomach started getting hot. And I'm like, that only happens when I like boys."

Nash invited Betts back to her place to watch a movie, hoping to figure out what she was feeling. The heat in her stomach didn't fade. When it was time for Betts to leave, Nash walked her to the door and kissed her cheek, but her tongue slipped out slightly.

Betts looked at her and asked, "Want to go lay down?" Nash jokes: "I'll be laying down ever since."
