Niger Safely Transports 2,281 Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

More than 2,000 people from Niger State, Nigeria are now on their way to fulfill a lifelong spiritual dream, thanks to a seamless transportation effort that brought together an entire community.

The Niger State government completed the transportation of 2,281 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage this week. All six flights departed safely from Bola Tinubu International Airport in Minna without any major incidents.

The pilgrims came from all 25 local government areas across Niger State, representing communities from every corner of the region. The Niger Pilgrims Welfare Board coordinated the complex logistics alongside multiple government agencies to ensure every traveler's journey began smoothly.

Governor Umaru Bago praised the collaborative spirit that made the operation successful. He highlighted how different teams worked together, from security personnel ensuring safety to medical staff providing health support throughout the process.
