Nigerian Army Rescues Two Bank Workers from Kidnappers

Two Unity Bank employees are home safe tonight after Nigerian Army troops rescued them from kidnappers in a dramatic operation across two states.

Marwan Abubakar, 40, and Leng'en Cakop, 37, were kidnapped in Zaki Biam, Benue State. Army intelligence quickly pinpointed their location in Gborgbor village, Taraba State, about 100 miles away.

Operation Whirl Stroke troops moved fast. They searched several houses in Gborgbor but initially came up empty. Then new intelligence confirmed the kidnappers and victims were still nearby.

The military doubled down. Additional troops led by a sub-sector commander swept through neighboring settlements, including Tse-Anaka village. The pressure worked.

Faced with an aggressive search closing in, the kidnappers abandoned both victims and ran. Troops found the bank workers unharmed and recovered a motorcycle the criminals used to escape.

The Bright Side

This rescue highlights a shift toward intelligence-led operations that actually work. Instead of random patrols, troops received specific tips from community members and acted within hours.

Force Commander Moses Gara praised his team's professionalism and speed. More importantly, he reminded residents that public tips make these rescues possible.
