Nigeria's basketball hopes are flying high as the MakTown Flyers prepare to compete in the Basketball Africa League Championship in Morocco this month.

Basketball promoter Igoche Mark visited the team's training camp in Abuja over the weekend with an inspiring message. "From the technical side, we are solid, and I think what we should do is to put in more effort and tell the world that we are strong, resilient, and we don't back down," he told the players.

The Flyers earned their spot in the continental tournament by winning the 2025 Nigeria Basketball League. They defeated Rivers Hoopers in the final to claim the championship and the right to represent their country.

Mark made it clear he's backing the team with more than just words. He confirmed he'll travel to Morocco with the squad to cheer them on in person. "To show my support, I will personally be with you in Morocco and cheer you to victory, and I believe this team will make us proud, make Nigeria proud, and make Maktown Flyers proud," he said.

Team captain Bright Akuiete accepted the challenge on behalf of his teammates. "We appreciate your support, sir, and we promise to make you proud," he responded.
