Nigerian Magician Breaks World Record With 50-Hour Show

When Ibitoye Kingfahd stepped onto a Lagos stage in November 2025, he had one goal: prove that African magic deserves world-class recognition.

The Nigerian magician, known as FaddotheGreat, just received official confirmation from Guinness World Records. He broke the record for the longest magic show ever performed by an individual with a jaw-dropping 50-hour marathon.

The record attempt took place between November 27 and 29, 2025, at POP Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. For more than two full days, FaddotheGreat performed continuously, keeping audiences spellbound through day and night.

His achievement crushed the previous record of 30 hours and 45 minutes, which had stood since 2004 when UK magician Richard Smith set it. FaddotheGreat didn't just edge past the old record. He obliterated it by nearly 20 hours.

The performance itself was a masterclass in endurance and creativity. FaddotheGreat performed over 1,200 unique tricks, from card routines to mentalism and grand stage illusions. Guinness rules added extra challenge: he couldn't repeat any trick within a four-hour window.

Behind the spectacle lies serious dedication. The first-class Civil Engineering graduate from Adeleke University spent over a year preparing. He designed and built many of his own props, training his body and mind for the grueling marathon ahead.

What makes this story powerful goes beyond entertainment. FaddotheGreat sees his record as a mission to change how people view African magic.

"For too long, magic in Africa has been misunderstood or relegated to the shadows," he explained. "I wanted to show the world and my fellow Nigerians that magic is a sophisticated art form, a craft of logic and wonder that belongs on the world's biggest stages."

He started as a self-taught enthusiast and built his career performance by performance. Now he's graced stages at Lagos Startup Week, the Pulse Influencer Awards, and Light-Up Lagos, earning recognition for the illusions he creates with his own hands.

His Instagram announcement radiated gratitude and national pride. "This win isn't just for me, it's for the entire nation and the limitless potential we all carry within us," he wrote, surrounded by photos of himself holding the official Guinness certificate.
