Nigerian Police Rescue Kidnapped Mom and Twin Sons

Police in Nigeria's Oyo State rescued Busayo Adelabu-John Paul and her twin sons on Saturday night, just three days after armed gunmen seized them during the school run. The dramatic rescue operation unfolded around 7:30 p.m., bringing relief to a family and community gripped by fear.

On June 3rd, gunmen intercepted Adelabu-John Paul at the Elewura area of Challenge in Ibadan as she drove her children to school. The abductors forcibly took the mother and her twin boys, sending shockwaves through the community.

Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the successful rescue operation in a statement Saturday night. Intelligence gathering and tactical pressure on the kidnappers led security forces to the captors' location, where a confrontation ensued.

During the rescue, two suspected kidnappers died in a gunfire exchange with police. Officers recovered two firearms from the criminal gang and freed all three victims alive.
