Nigerian Police Rescue Mother and Twin Sons After 4 Days

Mrs. Busayo Adelabu-John Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, are back with their family after a four-day nightmare ended Saturday evening in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Armed gunmen had intercepted the family at the Elewura area on June 3 while Mrs. Adelabu-John Paul was taking her children to school. The brazen daylight abduction sent shockwaves through the community, especially given her connection to a prominent political family.

But the Nigeria Police Force's Intelligence Response Team had already begun tracking the kidnappers. Through careful surveillance and intelligence gathering, officers pinpointed the location where the family was being held.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, the specialized unit moved in. A confrontation with the kidnappers ensued, during which two suspects were fatally wounded and two rifles were recovered. Most importantly, all three hostages emerged unharmed.

The victims are now receiving medical care and family support as they recover from their ordeal. Police spokesman DCP Anthony Placid confirmed that the mother and sons are in safe custody and doing well.
