Oluwaseun Ogunsakin is making history for Nigerian tennis, one match at a time.

The 17-year-old from Lagos scored his first-ever Grand Slam tournament win at the US Open Junior Championships in New York last week. He came from behind to defeat 15th-seeded Kuan-Shou Chen of Chinese Taipei 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 in a thrilling comeback.

Now Ogunsakin advances to face South Africa's Connor Doig in the round of 32 on Tuesday. The win marks a breakthrough moment for the Aurum Tennis Academy player, who has been steadily climbing the international junior circuit.

His path to the main draw wasn't easy. Ogunsakin won two tough qualifying matches, including an upset victory over Canada's top-seeded Felix Roussel, just to earn his spot among the 64-player field.
