When kidnappers seized a government bus carrying passengers along a notorious highway in Benue State, Nigerian military troops turned what could have been a tragedy into a rescue victory. All three victims walked away safely.

Operation Whirl Stroke forces received intelligence Wednesday night that an 18-seater Benue Links bus had been captured on the Enugu-Otukpo Road. The vehicle was carrying four passengers and a child when armed criminals forced it off the route.
