Nigerian Youth Honor 12 Leaders for Community Service

The Anambra State Town Unions Council Youth Wing recently gathered at Neni Civic Centre to celebrate 12 community leaders who've made lasting impacts on youth development across 10 towns in Anaocha Local Government Area. Among the honorees was Jideofor Okongwu, a former bar association chairman whose mentorship has opened doors for countless young people.

The awards weren't about celebrity or political fanfare. They recognized people who've quietly invested in their neighborhoods through education support, job training, and leadership mentoring.

Okongwu reminded the room full of young attendees that success requires discipline and resilience. "This milestone serves as a powerful reminder of why we started the community development journey," he said, emphasizing that individual achievement means little without lifting others along the way.

The youth organizers made clear their event connected to bigger goals: security, economic growth, education, and strong values. They're not waiting for change to happen. They're creating it themselves.
