The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, which millions of Nigerian students take annually to qualify for university admission, ran without technical problems at multiple testing centers across Abuja. "The system worked perfectly from the beginning to the end," said Stephen Sonde after completing his exam at Aduvie International School testing center. He praised the smooth biometric process and clear guidance that helped candidates understand how to save answers and complete their tests.

Elijah Itua, who has taken the exam before, noticed the difference immediately. "This is not my first time writing the UTME. The centre is very nice and everything worked perfectly. There was no challenge at all," he said at the Gudmerc Kiddies Academy center.

The success reflects careful planning behind the scenes. Center administrators conducted multiple practice sessions before exam day to catch potential technical problems early. "Before the examination, we usually carry out demonstration sessions, sometimes two or three times, to ensure that there are no technical glitches," explained Sylvester Edom, administrator at Aduvie International School.

At his center alone, 235 candidates completed the first testing session without any reported technical issues or exam misconduct. Security measures including biometric verification and identification systems helped maintain exam integrity throughout the day.

Parents noticed the improved organization too. Chika Anyaoha arrived early with her son, drawing on experience from the previous year. She appreciated the structured process but urged officials to keep marking procedures transparent and efficient.

Smooth exam administration might seem like basic functionality, but in a country where millions of students compete for limited university spots, technical failures can derail dreams. When testing centers work properly, students can focus on demonstrating their knowledge rather than fighting faulty equipment.

The successful rollout shows what's possible when education officials invest in preparation and testing infrastructure. Parents are now calling for more permanent computer-based testing centers to reduce reliance on borrowed school facilities and prevent future delays.
