A UPS driver in New Jersey did something unusual: he drove back to a customer's house when he didn't have a delivery, just to say thank you.
Kyle Thurkauf had delivered several boxes of books to Damian Lewis, author of "Call Me First: A Man's Blueprint to True Leadership at Home." Lewis noticed the large delivery and offered Thurkauf a copy of his book as a gesture of appreciation.
Thurkauf didn't just accept it politely and move on. He actually read it.
A few days later, Thurkauf returned to Lewis' home during his route, even though he had no package to drop off. He wanted to tell Lewis how much the book impacted him and ask where he could buy more copies.
"For him not to have a delivery for me that day, when he came back to tell me how good the book was and to ask me where to get it," Lewis said, "it was like, I feel like I made it at that point."

The entire interaction was captured on Lewis' Ring doorbell camera. When Lewis shared the video on TikTok, it exploded to more than 33 million views.
The Ripple Effect
What happened next stunned everyone involved. Since the video went viral, Lewis has sold more than 9,000 copies of his book.
"I feel blessed beyond anything I could ever expect," Lewis said. "I almost feel like I don't deserve it, but I'm so welcoming of everything that has happened."
For Thurkauf, the viral moment wasn't about attention. It was simply how he approaches his work every day.
"Provide a close, meaningful relationship with each and every one of them with respect and kindness and gratitude," he explained. "That's exactly the kind of service that I hope to provide when I'm at work."
The story shows how one genuine moment can create unexpected opportunities. Thurkauf's kindness gave Lewis a platform he'd been working toward for years, while Lewis' book gave Thurkauf insights that resonated deeply.
Sometimes the smallest acts of genuine connection open the biggest doors.
