Northeast Ohio Lands 2,953 Jobs Across All 14 Counties

Northeast Ohio just proved that economic growth doesn't have to skip over entire communities.

Team NEO, the region's business development organization, announced that all 14 counties in their coverage area gained new jobs in 2025. It's the first time the organization has achieved a perfect record across Ashland, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Wayne, and Canton counties.

The numbers tell an encouraging story. Team NEO facilitated 92 business investments that will create 2,953 new jobs, adding an estimated $188 million in annual payroll to the region. They also secured commitments for $455 million in capital investments while retaining 7,197 existing jobs.

"Despite headwinds felt across the state and the country, this report highlights reasons for optimism," said Matt Dolan, CEO of Team NEO. The achievement feels especially meaningful given the uncertain economic climate businesses have faced.

Some major wins stood out from the pack. LayerZero plans to expand its Streetsboro plant with a $14 million investment that will create 535 new jobs. The company manufactures power distribution equipment for massive data centers across the country, positioning Northeast Ohio as a key player in America's digital infrastructure.

Cannon Healthcare USA made another splash with a $30 million investment near Cleveland Clinic. The healthcare imaging company purchased an established building and will create 50 jobs, strengthening the region's healthcare technology sector.

These wins mean more than impressive statistics. Each new job represents a family with more financial stability, a person with fresh career opportunities, and a community with stronger local businesses. The retained jobs matter just as much, keeping nearly 7,200 families secure in their current positions.

The geographic spread matters too. When economic development reaches all 14 counties instead of concentrating in urban centers, it builds resilience across the entire region. Rural counties get the same opportunity for growth as their metropolitan neighbors.
