Sunoco of Halfmoon in Saratoga County now greets visitors with a sign reading "Want a discount? Show us your best dance moves." The idea came from 23-year-old social media manager Paulina Sirtori, who wanted to tackle the number one complaint she hears: gas prices are too high.

The promotion offers 20% off to anyone willing to bust a move. Videos show customers of all ages grooving to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston, their faces lit up with genuine smiles.

"We wanted to really do something to alleviate that a little bit," Sirtori told the New York Post. Her creative solution has racked up nearly 10 million views across social media platforms.

The concept isn't entirely new. Coffee Milano Cafe in Massachusetts went viral earlier this year with a similar idea, offering free coffee for just five seconds of dancing.

The Ripple Effect

What started as a discount program turned into something bigger. Online viewers flooded the comments with messages about how the simple act of watching others dance brightened their day.

"Whatever store to whoever put that note up, I tell you that makes everybody's day and makes people happy," one person wrote. Others noted that the joy customers felt mattered far more than the money saved.

The promotion gives people permission to be playful during an otherwise mundane errand. In a time when financial stress weighs heavy, these brief moments of silliness offer something priceless: freedom to be joyful without judgment.

Sirtori has filled the gas station's TikTok and Instagram with other uplifting content, including videos showing what happens "when the boss leaves for the day" and hopping on trending challenges. But the dance discount remains their biggest hit.

The young social media manager understood something important: people don't just need cheaper gas, they need reasons to smile. She created an excuse for strangers to move their bodies, laugh at themselves, and forget about sticker shock for a moment.
