Tymesha and Ricardo Scott dancing at wedding in hand-crocheted dress and suit

Ohio Bride Crochets Wedding Dress, Suit, and More in 15 Days

🤯 Mind Blown

Tymesha Scott crocheted her own wedding gown, her husband's suit, and her bridal party's dresses in just 15 days. The Cincinnati crochet artist turned her grandmother's one afternoon lesson into a business and a wedding day nobody will forget.

When Tymesha Scott walked down the aisle in Cincinnati, every stitch of fabric in the wedding party was handmade by her in just over two weeks.

The owner of Crochet Crochet & Accessories crocheted her wedding gown, her husband Ricardo's suit and fedora, and dresses for her matron and maid of honor. She even crocheted her bridal tiara and earrings on the morning of the wedding.

"I made it happen through determination, a very tight schedule, and many nights of running on five hours of sleep or less," Scott says. The timing was tight because she'd just finished a fashion show only one month before saying "I do."

Her crochet journey started in May 2015 when her mom suggested her grandmother teach them both to crochet as therapy. Her grandmother had been crocheting for over 80 years.

After just one lesson, Scott returned the next day with a crocheted ball cap. "She looked at it and said, 'You made this?! Go on, girl. You got it. You don't need any more lessons,'" Scott remembers.

That single afternoon unlocked a gift she never knew she had. By December 2015, she had launched her own business with a mission to show people crochet could be wearable art and high fashion.

The wedding outfit idea came from Ricardo himself. "One day he simply said, 'Why don't you crochet everything for our wedding?'" Scott recalls. "At first, I thought he was joking, but the more we talked about it, the more I realized it was an opportunity to create something the world had never seen before."

Her wedding gown took two weeks, Ricardo's suit and fedora took one week, and both bridesmaid dresses were completed in three days. She made it all while running on minimal sleep.

Why This Inspires

Wedding guests were amazed when they learned every piece had been crocheted by hand. Scott's favorite memory is her 96-year-old great-aunt's reaction, captured perfectly in a photograph showing pure amazement and joy.

Scott's story shows how quickly passion can transform into purpose. From one afternoon lesson with her grandmother to creating wearable art that stunned a room full of wedding guests, she proved that hidden talents can emerge at any moment.

"I hope people walk away knowing it's never too late to discover a gift you never knew you had," Scott says. Sometimes the biggest dreams really do begin with a single stitch.
