Olympic Gold Medalists to Meet Fans at Saratoga Races

Olympic glory is coming to the racetrack, and fans will get to meet the champions who brought home the gold.

Haley Winn, Hayley Scamurra, and team general manager Katie Million will appear at Saratoga Race Course on Whitney Day, August 8. All three New Yorkers helped Team USA win gold at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, ending the team's quest for glory after earning silver in 2022.

The trio will meet fans from 3 to 4 p.m., and the track will honor the team with a race named in their honor. It's a homecoming celebration for three women who've dedicated their lives to hockey excellence.

Winn, from Rochester, has quickly become one of women's hockey's brightest stars. After a standout career at Clarkson University where she earned first-team All-American honors, she was drafted second overall by the Boston Fleet in 2025 and named PWHL Rookie of the Year in her debut season.

Scamurra's journey from Buffalo to Olympic gold took dedication and resilience. She won silver in Beijing 2022 before helping Team USA reach the top of the podium in Milan, and this past season she added a Walter Cup championship with Montreal's PWHL team.

Million, a Hannibal native, built both the 2022 silver medal team and the 2026 gold medal squad as general manager. Her two decades in sports management, including time with Lake Placid's Olympic Regional Development Authority, prepared her to assemble championship rosters.
