Omaha Teams Win 4 Wrestling Titles in One Championship Day

Creighton Prep and Skutt Catholic brought home state wrestling championships Saturday, capping off undefeated seasons with dominant performances at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney.

The Junior Jays entered as the fourth seed in Class A but crushed second-seeded Kearney 56-16 in the finals. They won 11 of 14 individual matches to claim their first state duals title.

The victory marks a stunning turnaround for Creighton Prep's program. The last time they competed at state duals in 2013, they didn't win a single match.

This year was different. The team went unbeaten throughout the entire season, building momentum match after match until they stood alone at the top.

Meanwhile, Omaha Skutt Catholic cemented its dynasty status in Class B. The top-seeded Skyhawks defeated Bennington 50-25, with nine wrestlers winning their individual bouts.
