Orthodontist Raises $4,800 for Kids with Special Needs

When Dr. Megan LeCornu opened her orthodontic practice for a special charity day in April, she had no idea 60 families would show up to transform smiles while changing lives.

The Santa Clarita orthodontist partnered with Invisalign for a one-day giving event, donating $100 for every patient who started treatment. She chose Carousel Ranch, a local nonprofit providing equestrian therapy and job training for youth with special needs, as her beneficiary.

The response stunned everyone involved. Forty-eight families signed up for orthodontic treatment that day, generating a $4,800 donation for the Ranch.

"We weren't sure what to expect, but were blown away," said Taylor Adachi, Carousel Ranch's Executive Director. The organization had reached out to families, board members, and supporters, while Embrace Your Smile Orthodontics promoted the event throughout the community.

Dr. LeCornu, a longtime Ranch supporter, saw the charity event as a perfect opportunity to help the children and young adults she cares about. Her practice also matched patient down payments to encourage even more participation.

"The response from our community was truly overwhelming," LeCornu said. She expressed pride in seeing so many families recognize and support the Ranch's work.

Carousel Ranch serves children and young adults with special needs through programs that disguise therapy as fun. Students work with horses while building physical skills, confidence, and job readiness. The programs create an atmosphere where every participant can succeed.

The Ripple Effect

This single day of giving shows how creative partnerships can multiply impact. Sixty families got the orthodontic care they needed while supporting neighbors with special needs. Dr. LeCornu's practice strengthened community ties while advancing its mission of service.

The donation helps Carousel Ranch continue providing life-changing programs at no cost to many families. Each session with the horses builds skills that carry into school, work, and daily life for young people who face unique challenges.

One day, one idea, and 60 caring families created a wave of positive change that will ripple through Santa Clarita for years to come.
