Palm Springs Hosts Free 3-Day Juneteenth Celebration

Palm Springs is turning Juneteenth into a weekend-long celebration of freedom, culture, and community this June 18-20.

The city of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Black History Committee are hosting a free three-day festival that kicks off with a special Juneteenth celebration during the beloved Village Fest on Thursday evening. Residents and visitors can enjoy live entertainment along Palm Canyon Drive in downtown while supporting local vendors and businesses.

Friday brings an evening Unity Picnic at Downtown Park starting at 5 p.m., where families can gather for food, music, and activities while commemorating the ongoing pursuit of equality. Later that night at 7 p.m., Debby Holiday's Tina Turner Tribute Show takes the stage for a free concert celebrating the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll with all her iconic hits.

The weekend closes Saturday with the Juneteenth Youth Pageant at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center. For just $10, attendees can watch local young people showcase their talents and leadership while building confidence and cultural pride.
