Pennsylvania Students Pack 1,500 Care Bags for Families

Students from elementary through high school proved that small hands can make a big difference when hundreds gathered at Lansdale Catholic High School this week to support their neighbors.

The young volunteers packed 1,500 bags filled with non-perishable food items for Catholic Charities of Philadelphia. But they didn't stop at just dropping in groceries.

Each student added a personal touch that transformed a simple donation into something more meaningful. They wrote notes by hand and tucked them into the bags, turning provisions into care packages that say "someone is thinking of you."

The bags will benefit families using Catholic Charities' Out of School Time programs throughout the region. These programs offer after-school activities during late afternoon hours, focusing on youth development and keeping families supported when school lets out.

Montgomery County students from all grade levels participated in the community service event on Wednesday. The project brought together kids who might not normally work side by side, creating connections while they served others.
