Philly Sets World Record with 1,291 Cheesesteaks in a Row

More than a year of planning came together in just two hours as Philadelphia set a delicious new Guinness World Record.

At Philadelphia International Airport, 1,291 cheesesteaks lined up side by side, officially claiming the title for the world's longest line of the iconic sandwiches. A Guinness World Records representative counted each one to verify the achievement.

The project united some of Philly's most beloved food companies in a tasty team effort. Amoroso's Baking Company delivered over 1,000 fresh rolls, while Cooper Sharp brought in more than 200 pounds of cheese. Philly's Best Steak contributed over 900 pounds of chopped beef to make it all possible.

Chickie's & Pete's stepped up with kitchen equipment, prep space, and a crew of eager volunteers. Teams of participants worked together, splitting up tasks to assemble each sandwich with care and precision.

PHL Food and Shops partnered with the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation to make the record attempt happen. Community partners from across the city joined in, turning what could have been a simple publicity stunt into a genuine celebration of Philadelphia pride.
