Over 805,000 football fans flooded Pittsburgh across three days, shattering the NFL Draft attendance record and proving that good weather isn't required when a city has heart.

The Steel City crushed the previous record of 775,000 fans set in Detroit in 2024. The draft stage stood outside Acrisure Stadium, with viewing areas stretching into the parking lot while fans also packed the stadium inside.

"None of us would be able to say that we projected this," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said before the draft began. "People have been talking about this in Pittsburgh for almost a year."

Day 1 alone brought 320,000 people, setting a single-day attendance record. Goodell challenged the city ahead of Day 3 to draw 176,000 more fans to break the total attendance record, needing every one of them to make history.

Saturday brought rain, but Pittsburgh showed up anyway. The final day pushed the total past the record, proving that 34% of the metro area's 2.4 million residents were willing to brave the elements for football.

The NFL has brought the draft to different cities since 2015, transforming what was once a TV-only event into a citywide celebration. Each host city gets its moment to shine, and Pittsburgh seized it with both hands.
