Pocono Raceway to Honor Community Heroes at NASCAR Weekend
A Pennsylvania racetrack is searching for everyday heroes to celebrate with VIP NASCAR experiences this June. Teachers, first responders, students, and neighbors who quietly make a difference can be nominated through April 20.
Pocono Raceway is swapping its usual focus on racing stars for hometown champions who deserve recognition just as much.
The Pennsylvania speedway has partnered with Members 1st Federal Credit Union to find three community heroes who will receive all-access VIP treatment during the June 12-14 NASCAR weekend. Nominations are open now through April 20 at PoconoRaceway.com.
Anyone can nominate a deserving person in their life. That passionate teacher who stays late to help struggling students, the first responder who saves lives without fanfare, the teenager volunteering every weekend, or the neighbor who checks on elderly residents. Nominators simply need to explain in 500 words or less why their hero deserves the spotlight.
"We all know someone who is making a quiet but meaningful difference without ever asking for recognition," said Michael Wilson, President and CEO of Members 1st Federal Credit Union. "These are the people who lead by example, show up for others and make our communities stronger every day."

Three winners will be selected in different categories: Overall Community Hero, Above and Beyond Hero, and Up and Coming Hero. The grand prize winner receives garage and pit passes for two, premium seating for all three race days, and a $500 Visa card. The other two winners get the same prize package minus garage access.
The NASCAR weekend features three days of racing starting Friday, June 12 with the ARCA Menards Series 150, continuing Saturday with the MillerTech Battery 250, and finishing Sunday with The Great American Getaway 400.
The Ripple Effect
This program recognizes what research consistently shows: communities thrive when everyday acts of service are celebrated and encouraged. By shining a light on local heroes, Pocono Raceway is doing more than giving away tickets. It's sending a message that the person who quietly helps others matters just as much as any celebrity on race day.
"Our race weekends are about more than what happens on the track," said Pocono Raceway President Ben May. "They're about bringing people together and celebrating the communities that support us year-round."
The nomination window closes April 20, giving communities across Pennsylvania and beyond a chance to say thank you to someone who has earned it.
