Police Rescue 3 Kids From Traffickers in Nigeria

Three children are sleeping in their own beds tonight thanks to an alert community and swift police action in southern Nigeria.

On June 3rd, residents in Mkpat Enin got word that three local children had been taken by suspected traffickers. Youth in the nearby Ekparakwa community didn't wait. They set up a roadblock and called police immediately.

Officers from Akwa Ibom State Police Command responded within minutes, coordinating with the volunteers to lock down every major route out of the area. The goal was simple: find those kids before they disappeared.

The team spotted a suspicious minibus with Port Harcourt license plates trying to leave town. When officers searched the vehicle, they found all three children inside, unharmed and ready to go home.

Police arrested two men at the scene: Emmanuel Johnny, 39, and Ifiok Umoh, 28. Both are now in custody while investigators work to identify other members of what they believe is a larger trafficking network.
