Portugal Opens World's Longest Pedestrian Bridge

Imagine walking across a bridge longer than five football fields, suspended nearly 600 feet above a roaring river below.

The bridge took about €2.3 million to build and was designed by Portuguese research institution Itecons. Held up by steel cables and two massive V-shaped towers, the Tibetan-style hanging bridge sways gently as visitors make their way across.
