Reporter Reunited With Wallet Lost 30 Years Ago

Mark Dexter never knew his wallet was missing until it showed up 30 years later.

The 63-year-old English sports reporter got a surprising call from his wife after she spotted a Facebook post. Claire Wilson, who runs a forest school in Rawdon, had found an old wallet while clearing weeds during a community project and was trying to track down its owner.

Inside the weathered wallet was a Leeds United membership card from the 1992-93 Premier League season. Dexter had covered the team for the Yorkshire Evening Post back then, capturing one of the most exciting eras in the club's history as they defended their English football title.

The discovery stumped Dexter. He used to live in Rawdon and frequented local pubs, but he has no memory of losing a wallet. He also can't recall ever walking through the area where Wilson found it, which had once been a private garden attached to a nearby hotel.

His best guess? Someone might have stolen it during a night out, perhaps at a cricket match when he'd had a few too many drinks. The wallet somehow ended up buried in that forgotten garden, waiting decades to resurface.
