Rescue Dogs Kiss Shoppers at Mall Adoption Event

Eight rescue dogs spent their Saturday doing what they do best: giving unconditional love to everyone they met at a Lombard shopping mall.

SAIN Rescue brought their first-ever doggie kissing booth to Yorktown Center, where tail-wagging pups smothered visitors in slobbery kisses while posing for photos. Families lined up to meet the homeless dogs, with kids like nine-year-old Olivia Burns and five-year-old Isaac Brennan getting up close with their new four-legged friends.

"Our goal is to help find dogs their forever families and give them the second chance in the loving homes that they deserve," said Amy Burchett, a board member of the Bartlett-based organization. SAIN stands for Saving Animals In Need Rescue.

The nonprofit has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for homeless animals across Illinois for more than two and a half years. As a foster-based organization, they rely entirely on donations to continue their lifesaving work.

Yorktown Center proved the perfect partner for the event since the mall welcomes dogs inside. The dog-friendly policy has helped SAIN Rescue host multiple adoption events at the location, with some pups already finding their permanent homes through previous gatherings.
