Riverton Seeks Volunteers to Honor Veterans Saturday

This Saturday morning, volunteers in Riverton, Wyoming will gather at Mountain View Cemetery to make sure every veteran's grave bears an American flag for Memorial Day.

The Riverton Post 19 American Legion is organizing the effort, starting at 8 AM on May 23. Nancy Eustice, the Post Commander, says community members who want to help can simply show up at the cemetery and look for the trucks distributing flag bundles and maps.

The tradition of decorating veteran graves brings neighbors together each year to honor those who served in uniform. For many families, seeing that flag placed with care means someone remembered their loved one's sacrifice.
