Carla Bernat Escuder closed out the 2026 Guardian Championship with a flawless 8-under 64, finishing at 16-under par to claim her first professional title by two shots. The victory came during a grueling week where weather delays interrupted play in all three rounds, forcing players to stop and restart repeatedly.

But Bernat Escuder found an unexpected edge before the tournament began. "First thing, I deleted Instagram," she explained after her win. "I feel like whenever I look at Instagram, I normally don't do well because I start comparing myself to others."

This week felt different. Bernat Escuder credited breathing exercises and staying "cold-minded" when nerves crept in. She also praised her caddie Bo and his wife, whom she met earlier in the season at a tournament in Grasslands, calling their support "like a miracle for me."
