During his college career, King spent three seasons at Texas A&M before transferring to Georgia Tech for his final three years. At Texas A&M, he struggled with consistency, completing just 56.6% of his passes with equal touchdown and interception totals.

At Georgia Tech, everything clicked. King completed 67.6% of his attempts for 7,923 yards and 55 touchdowns across 36 games. He also rushed for more than 2,000 yards and 36 touchdowns on the ground, becoming one of the most dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks in college football.

Now he's turned one electrifying play into a legitimate shot at Carolina's backup quarterback role. Panthers fans immediately embraced their new hero, with one supporter writing, "That's our guy! Great job!"
