Sabrina Ionescu Hits #11 on WNBA Playoff 3-Point List

Sabrina Ionescu is writing her name deeper into WNBA history, one three-pointer at a time.

During the New York Liberty's semifinal matchup against the Atlanta Dream on Friday night, Ionescu drained her 87th career playoff three-pointer. That shot pushed her past Kara Lawson into 11th place on the WNBA's all-time postseason list for threes made.

The 27-year-old guard entered Game 3 with 83 playoff triples already under her belt. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, she'd added four more to her total, including the historic shot that secured her spot in the record books.

Ionescu has been a cornerstone of the Liberty since entering the league in 2020. Over seven seasons, she's developed into one of the WNBA's most dynamic playmakers, consistently helping New York compete for championships.

Her ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc has become a signature part of her game. Whether setting up teammates or creating her own shot, Ionescu's court vision and shooting touch make her a constant threat.

Why This Inspires

What makes Ionescu's achievement special isn't just the numbers. It's watching a player continue to grow and refine her craft year after year.

She came into the league with high expectations and has steadily delivered, building a resume that puts her alongside some of the greatest shooters in playoff history. Every three-pointer she makes now moves her closer to the very top of that list.

At just 27, Ionescu has plenty of postseason basketball ahead of her. If she maintains her current pace, those higher spots on the all-time list are well within reach.

For young basketball players watching, Ionescu shows what's possible when talent meets dedication. She's proof that consistent excellence, game after game and season after season, creates something lasting.

The Liberty's playoff run continues, and so does Sabrina Ionescu's climb up the record books.
