Salisbury Wig Charity OCTO Launches to Help Cancer Patients

Molly Cook turned her passion for helping people experiencing hair loss into something bigger: a full charity that can now reach thousands more who need it.

OCTO officially launched on February 7 at The Hair Extension Cave in Salisbury, where founder Molly Cook runs her hair business on Silver Street. The celebration brought together supporters, donors, and community members excited to see years of quiet generosity become an organized force for good.

For several years, Molly has been donating wigs and running clinics at Salisbury District Hospital for people undergoing chemotherapy or living with alopecia and trichotillomania, a hair pulling disorder. Now with official charity status, OCTO can apply for grants and host fundraising events to expand its reach.

The new structure means real growth. Molly plans to open clinics in Southampton and Bournemouth soon, with Winchester potentially following. Each location will provide free wigs and aftercare products to people who need them most, removing the financial burden during already difficult times.

The launch night filled The Hair Extension Cave with music, laughter, and raffle prizes donated by generous community members. Staff from the hair salon will continue supporting OCTO as trustees, keeping the operation grounded in expertise and care.
