Sam Darnold Leads Seahawks to Super Bowl After 346-Yard Win

Sam Darnold walked off the field at Lumen Field with confetti falling and history made. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback just became the first USC Trojans signal-caller ever to reach the Super Bowl, capping one of the most remarkable comeback stories in recent NFL memory.

The Seahawks defeated their division rival Los Angeles Rams 31-27 in the NFC Championship on Sunday. Darnold threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns on 25-of-36 passing while playing through an oblique injury.

This wasn't supposed to happen. When Darnold entered this season, critics doubted whether he could lead Seattle on a deep playoff run after six disappointing seasons with the Jets, Panthers, and 49ers.
