Santa Clarita Cancer Dinner Honors Survivors March 14

Cancer survivors in Santa Clarita Valley will gather for a night of hope and recognition at a special celebration dinner next month.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is hosting its annual Survivor and Caregiver Celebration Dinner on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Canyon Country Community Center. The free event welcomes anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, regardless of when or what type of treatment they received, along with one caregiver or guest.

"This cherished community event allows us to come together, honor the bravery of those who have battled or are battling cancer, and recognize the unwavering support of caregivers," said Laura Peach, Relay For Life of SCV Survivor and Caregiver Committee Co-Chair. The evening includes dinner, desserts, guest speakers, music, raffles, and photo opportunities.

Survivors must register online at www.SCVRelay.org and identify themselves as survivors to receive an invitation. RSVPs are requested by March 1, 2026.

Local businesses can support the event through sponsorships ranging from $250 to $3,000, including in-kind contributions. Contact survivors@scvrelay.org for partnership opportunities.

The Ripple Effect

This celebration dinner is just the beginning of a larger community movement. The event leads up to the main Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley on May 2, 2026, with the theme "Superheroes Unite! Join the Fight!"

That family-friendly day features live entertainment, games, food trucks, and cancer awareness education. Survivors receive special recognition through a dedicated lap, the Luminaria Ceremony honoring loved ones, and a pampering area with food and surprises.

The Relay For Life movement unites communities worldwide to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services. More than a fundraising walk, it embodies the vision to end cancer as we know it for everyone.

Every survivor celebrated and every caregiver honored strengthens the community's commitment to fighting cancer together.
