Search Team Finds 3 Lost Hikers Safe in Santa Clarita

When three hikers couldn't find their way back on a trail at Placerita Canyon Nature Center last Saturday, help arrived from above.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Search and Rescue team got the call around 12:30 PM. A group had wandered off the path and didn't know how to get back to safety.

The response was fast and efficient. The team dispatched a rescue helicopter to scan the canyon grounds from the air while ground crews prepared to assist.

Within hours, all three hikers were located completely unharmed. No injuries, no emergency medical care needed, just relief all around.

"We just came to the mountains to go hiking, and we couldn't find the path to get back," one of the rescued hikers told reporters on scene. "Thank you to the Los Angeles Sheriff for finding us."

Lieutenant Kinsella of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station confirmed the successful rescue. "We dispatched search and rescue and found the three hikers unharmed," he stated.
