The city of Sedona and Drive Electric Arizona are hosting their third annual Electric Vehicle Ride and Drive event on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Posse Grounds Park. Between 15 and 25 electric vehicles will be available for test drives along scenic Sedona routes.
The event stands out because real EV owners, not dealers, bring their personal vehicles to share. They'll answer questions honestly about everything from charging costs to road trip planning.
"We aren't selling anything; we simply want to share our love of EVs with others," said Peter Culin, Co-Founder and Vice President of Drive Electric Arizona. Anyone with a valid driver's license can get behind the wheel, while passengers can ride along without one.
Zach Schwarz, Sedona's Sustainability Coordinator, sees the event as perfect timing. "For those of us who are looking for our next car or are tired of the high cost of gas at the pump, this event is a rare opportunity to test drive a wide range of different EVs on the market without the pressure often found at dealerships," he said.
The Ripple Effect
Events like this do more than help individual car buyers make informed choices. They build community knowledge about sustainable transportation and show how everyday people are already living with electric vehicles successfully.
Several partner organizations will have information booths, including Arizona Public Service, Solar United Neighbors, and Clean Air Arizona. Attendees can learn about home charging installation, solar power options, and air quality improvements from reduced emissions.
Registration isn't required but is recommended at driveelectricaz.org. The park is located at 525 Posse Ground Road, with free parking and a playground nearby for families.
