Sheetz Customers Donate $2.4M to Help Local Kids in 2025
Convenience store customers across seven states raised a record-breaking $2.4 million last year to help children in need, with half of that coming in December alone. The 33-year-old charity program brought holiday gifts and meals to more than 13,400 kids through simple donations at checkout.
Customers at over 800 Sheetz convenience stores proved that small acts of generosity add up to life-changing impact. Their donations in 2025 shattered previous records, raising $2.4 million for children living in poverty across the Mid-Atlantic region.
The campaign ran from July through December, with an extraordinary $1.1 million pouring in during the final month. Shoppers could round up their purchases at checkout or donate loyalty points through the Sheetz app, turning everyday coffee runs into opportunities to help.
Each store location adopted 16 local children for the holidays. That meant more than 13,400 kids received clothing, toys, and essentials they otherwise might not have had.
"Our customers continue to exceed our expectations," said Brittany Funcheon, executive director of Sheetz For the Kidz. "Their unwavering generosity brings hope and joy to thousands of children across our seven-state footprint."
The program works through partnerships that maximize every dollar donated. The Salvation Army distributes holiday gifts and essentials, while Make-A-Wish granted wishes for 84 seriously ill children, one per Sheetz operating district.

A new partnership with Feeding America in 2025 extended the impact beyond the holidays. An $819,000 commitment provided 2.4 million meals through backpack programs, kids' cafes, school pantries, and summer feeding programs.
Since launching in 1992, Sheetz For the Kidz has helped 195,000 children across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky. The program thrives on accessibility, making it easy for anyone to contribute regardless of donation size.
Customers can support the cause year-round by donating loyalty points, rounding up Walmart orders when Sheetz For the Kidz is selected as their charity, or simply buying a Sheetz Bros. iced coffee, which contributes one percent of sales to the program.
The Ripple Effect
This story shows how businesses can activate their customer base for good without asking for major sacrifices. Spare change and loyalty points become warm coats and hot meals. A coffee purchase funds a child's wish.
The model proves that community support doesn't require wealth or grand gestures. When companies build charitable giving into everyday transactions, millions of small decisions create massive change for families who need it most.
Thirty-three years in, this program keeps growing because it makes generosity effortless and impact visible.
