Singapore Opens 800 Tech Jobs for Fresh Graduates
Singapore is rolling out a major expansion of its tech career program, giving fresh university graduates access to 800 jobs, specialized training, and a new one-stop career platform. The move builds on a successful initiative that's already placed over 2,300 students in internships and convinced 200 employers to hire based on skills, not just degrees.
Getting that first tech job just got easier for thousands of Singapore graduates.
The country's Infocomm Media Development Authority announced Friday it's expanding its successful TIP Alliance program to include university graduates, not just polytechnic and technical school students. The new TIP Alliance+ program launches with 800 tech jobs and internships already waiting on a brand new career platform.
Since 2022, the original TIP Alliance helped over 2,300 students land year-long internships and connected more than 1,000 graduates to tech jobs. Now university students studying information and digital technology will get the same support through structured training, hands-on experience, and direct connections to employers.
The program tackles a problem many new graduates face: having technical skills but lacking real-world industry knowledge. IMDA is partnering with employers to create bite-size training modules that teach graduates how technology actually works in different sectors, from government systems to healthcare and finance.
The first specialized track, called the Government Tech Pathway, teams up with GovTech and the Singapore Computer Society. Students will learn about governance, compliance, and public sector technology while building technical skills that work in both government agencies and private tech companies.

The Ripple Effect
What makes this program different is how it's changing hiring practices across Singapore. Over 200 companies have already shifted to skills-based hiring, looking at what graduates can actually do instead of just checking their academic credentials.
The new Tech Elevation and Career Hub platform brings everything together in one place. Fresh graduates, job seekers, and people switching careers can find tech jobs, explore training programs, and map out career paths without jumping between different websites.
The three-year initiative aims to strengthen Singapore's entire tech talent pipeline by connecting education, industry training, and actual employment opportunities. Graduates from technical schools, polytechnics, and universities will all have clear pathways into meaningful tech careers.
More sector-specific training tracks are coming soon for financial services and health technology, giving graduates even more options to specialize in growing fields.
This is how you build a tech workforce ready for tomorrow's challenges.
