Singer Benson Boone Pranks Groom in Hilarious First Look

When Eric Magelsen turned around for his wedding day first look, he expected to see his bride Sydni Burrup in her dress for the first time. Instead, he found his childhood best friend Benson Boone in a white gown, veil, and full bridal accessories.

The hilarious prank happened on March 29 at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City, a month before the couple's April 30 wedding. Burrup secretly coordinated with their photographer Ashlyn Harrop to pull off the surprise.

Boone, the 23-year-old singer known for his hit "Beautiful Things," committed fully to the bit. He strutted down the hall wearing one of Burrup's mother's dresses, complete with a tulle veil, silver jewelry, and a bouquet.

"My heart's beating really fast," Magelsen told the videographer moments before turning around. When he finally saw Boone instead of his bride, he instantly burst out laughing.

The two friends hugged and high-fived as Boone played it up. "Eric, this is gonna be the biggest day of our lives, and I just want to let you know there's no one else I'd rather be with," the singer said before kissing the groom on both cheeks.

Magelsen remembers the moment vividly. "The first thing I saw was chest hair and I just about died laughing," he tells PEOPLE.

The groom admits he should have seen it coming. "Benson and I have been best friends since we were babies and growing up we were constantly pulling pranks on each other," Magelsen says.
