Singer Engelbert Humperdinck, 90, Stays Fit Underwater

At 90 years old, Engelbert Humperdinck has discovered an unusual fountain of youth at the bottom of his swimming pool.

The British singer famous for romantic ballads like "Release Me" shared his unconventional fitness routine on "The Jim Masters Show" recently. He spends his days in the pool performing martial arts moves underwater, which he says makes the exercises even more effective.

"That's how I stay alive and keep going and keep myself as fit as possible so that the audience can see me in a respectable way," Humperdinck explained. The underwater workouts happen to be paying off in a big way.

The legendary performer has concert dates scheduled into 2027 and a new album dropping on August 28th. "Faithfully" features his interpretations of classic rock songs by Journey, the Cars, KISS, and Aerosmith.

Meanwhile, younger audiences are discovering Humperdinck through an unexpected source. His 1968 track "A Man Without Love" appeared in Marvel's "Moon Knight" series, introducing his music to a new generation who care more about the sound than the singer's age.

Since losing his wife Patricia in 2021 after 57 years of marriage, Humperdinck's love songs carry deeper meaning. She raised their children alone while he toured for months at a time and supported him from his earliest days as an unknown artist.

"I read the lyrics a little differently now, especially since I lost my wife," he said. "And it comes out more sincere."
