Slovenian Ski Jumper Domen Prevc Wins 12th Event This Season

Slovenia's Domen Prevc is having the season of his career, and Saturday's ski flying competition in Kulm, Austria proved he's nowhere near slowing down.

The double Olympic champion sailed 228.5 meters through the air to claim his fifth consecutive victory and twelfth win of the season. He edged out hometown favorite Stephan Embacher by just 1.1 points in a thrilling finish that had the crowd on its feet.

Prevc trailed after the first round but delivered when it mattered most. His second jump earned 221.9 points, enough to overtake Embacher's strong opening performance and secure the top spot on the podium.

"I challenged Embacher once again in the second round, and he couldn't defend it, so the win is ours," Prevc said after his victory. The 25-year-old Slovenian now holds a massive 693-point advantage over Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi in the overall standings.

With nine events left in the season, Prevc could mathematically clinch his first overall Crystal Globe title on Sunday if results fall his way. That would cap off what he described as a "phenomenal 12 months" following his Olympic success.
