The vehicle's 815-watt solar system covers four body zones with 205 custom solar cells across the hood, dashboard, roof, and rear hatch. When parked in one spot all day, the car delivered 4.23 kWh to its battery.

Rotating the vehicle once at solar noon boosted output to 4.40 kWh. Opening the rear hatch toward the sun pushed generation even higher to 4.75 kWh.
These results matter because vehicle-integrated solar has faced serious doubts from engineers and consumers alike. Critics point to the limited surface area on cars, unavoidable shading, and flat panel angles that reduce efficiency compared to rooftop installations.
But this independent testing shows the technology works under actual field conditions, not just in controlled lab environments. The power conversion efficiency remained steady between 90.4% and 90.8% across all testing scenarios.
