Spain's Qualitas Energy Buys 91 MW Wind Farm in Germany

Spain's Qualitas Energy just made a big bet on Germany's clean energy future, acquiring six wind farms that will bring renewable power to tens of thousands of homes. The 91 megawatt portfolio purchase from PNE AG spreads across three German states and strengthens Europe's push toward a fossil fuel-free future.

The deal includes wind projects in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, and Brandenburg. Three of the six farms have already started construction, including the 27.8 MW Welsche Lied project and two smaller facilities in Helenenberg and Zinndorf.

Once completed, these wind farms will generate enough clean electricity to power more than 60,000 German households. That's 60,000 families switching from fossil fuels to wind energy, cutting carbon emissions while keeping the lights on.

The acquisition isn't just about one company expanding its portfolio. It represents something bigger happening across Europe: countries actively helping each other meet climate targets through cross-border energy investments.

Roland Stanze, COO of PNE AG, emphasized the importance of the longstanding partnership between the two companies.
