Spin Doctors Singer Plays 'Two Princes' at Rental Car Desk

A canceled flight at Chicago's O'Hare Airport turned into a viral moment when Spin Doctors singer Chris Barron pulled out his guitar at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car counter.

On December 13, 2025, Barron and fellow musician John Hampson (of Nine Days fame) found themselves stranded after weather delays canceled their flight home. The seasoned road veterans made a quick decision to rent a car and drive to Pittsburgh instead.

When they arrived at the empty rental counter with their guitar cases, four Enterprise employees asked them to play something. Barron immediately launched into "Two Princes," the band's iconic 1991 hit that reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100.

The employees didn't recognize him at first. They pulled out their phones to record what they thought was just a really good cover by a talented stranger.

"They're clearly like, 'Wow, this guy is good,' but they also clearly don't know that I'm the dude from Spin Doctors," Barron later explained. When Hampson revealed his identity while Barron was in the bathroom, the workers' excitement doubled.

The 56 year old musician admits he doesn't think in viral video terms. "I'm a 20th century guy," he says, but he appreciates the organic nature of the moment.
